EU extends Iran sanctions by one year

TEHRAN, Apr. 12 (MNA) – The Council of the European Union on Thu. extended the sanctions imposed on Iran over alleged human rights violations by a year until April 2019.

The sanctions include asset freezes and travel restrictions against 82 people and one entity.

The EU move comes as US President Donald Trump has set European sides a May 12 deadline to ‘fix’ what he calls “the terrible flaws" of the 2015 nuclear agreement, otherwise he would refuse to waive a raft of sanctions against Iran that were lifted under the JCPOA.
